There are moments when a small act of generosity can have a life-changing impact - and this is one of them.

We’re calling on passionate, community-minded people to join us as volunteers for the 50-50 Charity Raffle at an upcoming Brisbane Lions home game. Your energy, your voice, and just a few hours of your time can help raise critical funds for Wounded Heroes Australia, a national charity delivering 24/7 crisis relief to current and former members of the Australian Defence Force and their families.

So, what is the 50-50 Charity Raffle?

It’s Australia’s only not-for-profit raffle that gives sports fans the chance to win big - while giving back to the causes that matter most.

Here’s how it works:

  • 50% of ticket sales go to one lucky winner
  • 40% supports a nominated charity - in this case, Wounded Heroes Australi
  • 10% goes to Lottery Corp for their administration and set up

Since 2019, the Brisbane Lions and 50-50 Charity Raffle have proudly teamed up to create meaningful impact through the power of sport and community. This season, we’re turning up the volume to support those who’ve served our country.

Why do we need volunteers?

Because this entire model relies on people like you.

Volunteers are at the heart of every successful raffle. You’ll be selling tickets to fans around the stadium using simple handheld devices - either on your own or in pairs. It's fun, it’s energising, and it's incredibly rewarding.

The more tickets you sell, the higher the prize pool - and the more money we raise for Wounded Heroes.

Who are Wounded Heroes?

Wounded Heroes is a Queensland-based charity operating nationwide, providing urgent support to veterans and ADF families facing homelessness, financial crisis, domestic violence, or mental health struggles. Despite receiving zero government funding, they are on-call around the clock - every day of the year.

And the need is growing. According to the Royal Commission’s 2024 report, veteran suicides in Australia now average three every fortnight. This is more than a statistic - it’s a national crisis. And we all have a role to play in helping turn it around.

Your impact as a volunteer:

✅ Raise vital funds
✅ Increased awareness about our veterans and their struggles
✅ Be part of a high-energy matchday experience
✅ Connect with like-minded people
✅ Give back in a way that genuinely matters

Ready to get involved?

Volunteering is easy, rewarding, and makes a tangible difference. Whether you’ve got experience or it’s your first time, we’ll give you all the tools and training you need to hit the ground running.
