We need your help to prevent the heartbreakingly high rates of veteran suicide, veteran homelessness and provide support to our veteran families when they need it most.

Our ADF veterans and families give the most. Your donation to Wounded Heroes Australia can help with essentials such as food, emergency accommodation, housing stability, rehabilitation support services and family support services, and can change lives for the better.

Rapid Crisis Response

At Wounded Heroes we:

Receive and respond to crisis presentations by telephone, referral and walk-in.
Conduct an initial assessment of the individual’s circumstances, immediate needs and urgency.
Work toward commencing WHA’s initial response within 30 minutes of an eligible crisis presentation.
Determine appropriate immediate practical assistance within WHA policies, procedures and financial delegations.
Coordinate emergency assistance including, where appropriate:
- food relief;
- fuel assistance;
- emergency accommodation;
- homelessness prevention;
- essential utilities;
- urgent financial assistance;
- essential transport; and
- other approved crisis assistance.
Maintain a practical, compassionate and solutions-focused approach to crisis intervention.
Identify circumstances involving immediate threats to safety or wellbeing and escalate appropriately.
Recognise circumstances requiring specialist clinical, emergency, statutory, housing, FDV or other professional intervention.
Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and recognise the limitations of WHA’s role.
Follow WHA policies relating to eligibility, approvals, expenditure, privacy, confidentiality and record keeping.
